Male Infertility and Smoking

You might have heard that smoking and alcohol consumption should be minimised or stopped when trying to conceive, as it improves fertility.

A recent study which was reported at a recent European conference that Dr Boothroyd attended, showed that smoking and alcohol consumption were adverse for fertility outcomes. The study focused on couples who were undertaking ICSI. The new finding was that all male alcohol consumption was affecting the ability to conceive. Sorry guys - it’s best you stop with the alcohol and smoking when attempting conception.
